Abstract

The weir is located on the main river shortly after the intake to the power canal of the Baiersdorf-Wellerstadt hydroelectric power plant. The water-filled rubber gate is a replacement construction of a bear trap gate and consists of 2 spans with a width of 27 m and a height of 1.85 m. The gates were installed by Hydroconstruct, Austria and the rubber membrane was produced by Rubena, Czech Republic. The weir keeps the upstream water level constant and provides the hydropower station with sufficient water.
